SSI INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COURSE & OPEN WATER INSTRUCTOR
This program provides candidates with the knowledge, concepts and training necessary to organize and conduct entry-level scuba training courses. Candidates will learn the SSI Teaching System and philosophy, and how to effectively teach and evaluate Open Water Diver students. It will also prepare the candidate for their Instructor Evaluation. Candidates who complete this program and the Instructor Evaluation earn the SSI Open Water Instructor certification.
Minimum age: 18 years old.
Be certified in Enriched Air Nitrox 40 or equivalent.
Must hold the Dive Control Specialist/Assistant Instructor rating or an equivalent rating from a recognized agency.
Must have logged no less than 75 open water dives totaling 50 hours or more.
The number of classes, hours and sessions per day are set by the individual instructor, based on the candidate’s needs, ability and local water conditions.
